Welcome to Derby Photographic Society's Homepage.

Here you will find information about forthcoming events, competition winners and a little bit about us.

We meet at Rolls Royce Club, Osmaston Road, Derby at 7.30pm on Monday evenings. There is ample parking, a well stocked and competitively priced bar and free WIFI throughout. Our varied winter programme runs from September to April, when we have guest speakers who present a selection of their own images. We find them to be very generous with their time and expertise as they pass on their invaluable experience. We also hold regular digital meetings where our members share their own hints and tips for using a computer to manage and make the most of digital images. Details of all our forthcoming meetings can be found on the Calendar page. During the summer months we arrange visits to places which we think will be of interest to our members and their partners.

We particularly welcome beginners and those who want to learn new skills to our meetings and visitors will be made very welcome. There is a small charge to non-members (currently £3 for adults and 50p for juniors).

Each month we showcase the work of a different club member on this page. This month, we are pleased to present a collection of portrait and landscape images from Jim Burton. Jim has been interested in photography for many years, taking his time to make the leap from film to digital media and now uses a Nikon D700 for all of his work. Jim has a studio at home which he uses for portraits and also loves visiting coast and countryside for his landscapes.
